Codex approached us with a desire to redefine and transform their skincare brand. Working closely with our strategy team, we honed in on a concise proposition that captured the essence of their vision: "Reimagining skincare with passion, sustainability, and data." This proposition served as our guiding star throughout the branding process, ensuring that every aspect we created effectively conveyed this message. While we retained the existing logo and packaging for the launch, we kept them in mind when developing the new brand system, ensuring seamless integration and harmony under the new proposition.
As a brand unbound by the limitations and conventions of the skincare industry, we embarked on a journey of imagination, discovery, and wonderment, drawing inspiration from nature and science without relying on clichés. Inspired by the perpetual movement and evolution of the natural world, we crafted captivating organic shapes and forms that reflect both nature and science in an abstract and almost fantastical manner. A key aspect of our branding approach was the creation of a distinctive master brand color: Sea Teal. Drawing from the vibrant blues and greens found in the ocean, we chose this unique and own-able color that sets Codex apart from its competitors. This organic blue evokes positive emotions in consumers while symbolising tranquility, rejuvenation, and the boundless expanse of the sea and sky.
To further enhance the brand's flexibility and adaptability, we introduced the tagline "Reimagining: Skincare." This tagline allows for versatility, reflecting the brand's continuous evolution and ability to reimagine various aspects, such as "Reimagine: Gut Health," demonstrating our commitment to exploring new frontiers.
